'Star Trek Beyond' Official Trailer Is Here
The first trailer for ‘Star Trek Beyond’ has crash-landed.
Justin Lin — long associated with The Fast and the Furious franchise — takes the Star Trek reigns from Force-focused defector J.J. Abrams, following up 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness with Star Trek Beyond. Due out next summer in celebration of the franchise’s 50th anniversary, Beyond looks like another fun ride (cue the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage”) and will see Captain Kirk, Spock, Bones, Scotty, Hikaru Sulu, Nyota Uhura, Pavel Chekov and company taking on the Enterprise’s much talked-about Five Year Mission. Starring Idris Elba as an alien adversary (details of the Brit’s role have largely been kept under wraps), Star Trek Beyond will hit theaters July 22, 2016.
