Blood Brother's 2016 Spring/Summer "Colony" Collection Is a Taste of Life on Mars
With an emphasis on performance and sustainability.

UK label Blood Brother has gone extraterrestrial with its latest collection, looking toward the Red Planet for inspiration. The pieces range from the classic — soft suede bomber jackets, raw denim bottoms — to the progressive — namely a hooded cape-like jacket and the asymmetrical zips that dominate throughout. The collection’s palette is dominated by scorched reds and earthen tones, as well as collage-print graphics that borrow from newspapers as much as they do from haute designers like Raf Simons. The materials used include recycled plastics and nylon, nodding toward the environmental consciousness and sustainability that a terraformed planet would require. The results are vivid and promises previews of the not-so-distant future.
