First introductions are compared to gruesome deaths.
George R. R. Martin doesn’t hold back when it comes to cooking up unexpected deaths. Fans of his HBO show Game of Thrones have become accustomed to losing characters young and old, beloved and hated, to some abrupt and twisted of murders. American writer and director Fernando Andrés has produced a short video titled “Valar Morghulis: A Side-By-Side Voyage,” whose name refers to the High Valyrian phrase that translates as ”all men are mortal.” The video pairs the first closeup shots of a character’s introduction to the show beside their final shots in a profound statement that “no matter our nobility or our wealth, we all die the same.” Watch the comparisons in the video above.
