Document Studios x Kickers "FORTY" Kick-Hi 40th Anniversary Zine
The archetypal and subversive British boot gets a fitting commemoration of its first 40 years.

Iconic in its time, the Kickers Kick-Hi has seen four decades of wear since it was first launched by Daniel Raufast under the French brand in 1975. Worn by the music royalty in the intervening years, including the likes of The Who, Elton John and David Bowie, the Kick Hi has since become a cult favorite among those with an appreciation of the British street subculture and music circles such as mod, acid house and Brit-pop. To commemorate the history of the boot, Kickers entered a collaboration with Document Studios to create FORTY, a specially curated retrospective zine published by David Hellqvist and designed by Mark Thompson that sheds light on the role of the shoe as a cultural lynchpin. The zine features interviews and work by the likes of Simon Foxton, Dean Mayo Davies and James Pearson-Howes, in tribute to a street style icon that is sure to be around for many more decades to come.
