After exploring the notion of infusing space-inspired technology with sartorial sensibilities for the wings+horns x ByBorre Space Suit, we now bring you the full collection for Fall/Winter 2015 by the former label that follows in the same thematic footsteps of early space exploration, titled “Contact Light.” The collection as a whole sees the careful integration of layered knitwear with technical fabrics, resulting in a series of outerwear pieces and pants that uphold the label’s utilitarian aesthetics while offering the latest in wearable functionality. Highlighted pieces include the knit wool leather bomber jacket and knit wool topcoat featuring Polartec Windbloc lining, the cotton/nylon combat parka and mac coat with Polartec Alpha (a type of insulation originally developed for the U.S. Special Forces), and a vest, blazer, and CPO jacket that all utilize Polartec Powershield – a weather-resistant multi-knit fabric. Rounding off the collection is another joint effort piece by Borre Akkersdijk of ByBorre, who now takes on the wings+horns signature Tiger Spruce camouflage print and reappropriates it on to a custom multidimensional knit fabric for the combat and bomber jacket pieces, both that sport Alpha insulated sleeves. Be sure to check out the full “Contact Light” collection in the gallery above.
