TLC Turn to Kickstarter to Fund Fifth Album

If you’re ever in doubt of how to fund your next venture, turn to Kickstarter. At least, that’s what R&B group TLC might tell you, as it has been confirmed via Billboard that the band has turned to the startup investment platform seeking financial backing for their fifth and final studio album. Group member Chilli indicated that, while this route might be unconventional, it also presents a great opportunity for the fans to take ultimate control over the album’s content and creation. Furthermore, the deal comes with some sweeteners, as Chilli and T-Boz have offered up gifts for investors like music video outfits, exercise classes, slumber parties, movie dates, phone calls, outgoing voicemail messages and much more. Quite an interesting offer but time will tell if this open invitation will garner traction. Stay tuned.
