It all began with X-Men #1, created in 1963 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, which accounted for most of the original members such as Professor X, Cyclops, Ice Man, Angel, Jean Grey and Beast. Through flashback stories, we eventually learn how the X-Men came to be, with this core group remaining for the franchise’s initial 12 years. But throughout the 50+ years of X-Men, we have seen countless new additions, side teams, offshoots — so much so that it’s hard to keep track of.
