While it may be one small step for Nokia, the launch of the brand’s 215 model represents a leap for society. It’s easy to forget that not everyone lives in a smartphone society – given various social and economic factors – but the Microsoft-powered Nokia 215 aims to usher in a new age of digital ubiquity. Intended to enable first-time mobile phone buyers new digital experiences – Bing search, Twitter and Facebook – alongside features such as Bluetooth 3.0 and a custom “SLAM” software that allows content sharing between devices. All that is packaged into a rather minute package, but the best part isn’t the size, but the retail price: $29 USD. Look for the Nokia 215 to arrive in the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Asia in the first quarter of this year.
