Following weeks of teasers, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the self-driving F 015 Luxury in Motion vehicle at CES in Las Vegas. The sleek, curvy four-door features a “lounge-like” interior according to Mercedes, thanks to its four rotating seats and an array of screens that swill soon support gesture controls and eye-tracking. On the exterior the F 015 includes a pair of of “LED fields” at the front and rear that change color based on the car’s current driving mode — white in manual and blue for autonomous. Lastly, this concept model is built with a lightweight carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), a material that BMW is using on its high-concept i3 and i8 cars, and runs on hydrogen as well.
