10 Symbols in 10 Days: Nike Unveils the KobeX

If you follow Nike Basketball on Twitter, you might already be aware that in commemoration of the 10th iteration of the Kobe silhouette, the brand will tantalize over the next 10 days with information concerning the upcoming KobeX. A similar marketing campaign was utilized in the lead up to the unveiling of a previous Kobe design, whereby Nike only released images of it when Kobe outscored Michael Jordan on the NBA’s all-time leading scorers list. The elusive tweet about the KobeX reads, “10 days. 10 symbols. 10 ways Kobe always strikes with precision. The sum of Mamba’s parts revealed 1.31 #KOBEX.” Each day Nike will release a cryptic image, non-direct statement and/or performance details before the sneaker is fully unveiled on January 31, with a rumored drop date of February 7.
