In anticipation of the upcoming Chinese New Year, adidas Originals has released a special festive rendition of its classic ZX 5000 style. The retro runner — part of the Chinese New Year Pack created as a tribute to 2015’s upcoming celebration — takes its design cues from the traditional art of the paper cut, along with added inspiration from the rich mythology of the Chinese Zodiac and the iconography of the goat. Featuring wool uppers with premium leather overlays, the limited-edition silhouette sports a largely subdued navy make-up, with gold-colored molded eyestay details and chalk white midsoles providing some color contrast.
