An intriguing new project maybe coming from the legendary De La Soul and arguably two of hip-hop’s greatest producers of all time, Pete Rock and DJ Premier. According to a recent De La Soul interview with XXL, De La’s Dave told editors:
“DJ Premier and Pete Rock have been sending us beats. No real idea of what the theme is gonna be, the theme behind the title [Premiem Soul On The Rocks], what that’s gonna be, if it’s gonna be skits, if it’s gonna be songs, remakes, whatever it is. Right now we’ve just been accumulating beats and waiting for Premier to handle some stuff as well.”
Based on the discussion, nothing appears to be confirmed just yet in terms of release date, but they are hinting a bit at a September release.
