Calvin Harris Tops This Year's Highest Paid DJs

With the rise of electronic music in today’s scene, it is no secret that the most famous and recognizable DJs are profiting off this movement. With the top earners bringing in a combined haul of a staggering $300 million USD, we take a look at the major players profiting off the market. Topping last year’s list with $46 million USD in annual earnings, Calvin Harris is once again crowned the cash king of DJs, earning a total of $66 million in the past 12 months, which is more than double that of runner-up David Guetta, who brought in $30 million USD. Rounding out the rest of the top five are Avicii, Tiesto and Steve Aoki, along with several other big names.

Perhaps the driving factor behind the success of these DJs is not only a combination of shrewd business moves but also the mainstream commercialization of electronic dance pop music, spreading the genre across a wide demographic of young and old listeners alike.
