The NFL Wants Halftime Musical Acts to Pay to Perform
Undoubtedly one of the biggest annual televised shows on the network, the NFL Halftime Musical act

Undoubtedly one of the biggest annual televised shows on the network, the NFL Halftime Musical act regularly garners upwards of a hundred million viewers each year with more people tuning in for the spectacle than the actual game itself. With the NFL reportedly narrowing the search for this years performer down to three – Katy Perry, Coldplay and Rihanna – the league has made an unprecedented request for payment following the performance. Reactions from the request have been mostly negative with the idea of “paying to play” an unrewarding one considering the recent downturn in musical sales. The verdict is still out on if the NFL will follow through with the request and who will headline Super Bowl XLIX in 2015.
