According to the Wall Street Journal, Viacom and Spotify have paired up on a marketing deal that will provide easier access to the music featured on both their on-air and online outlets. Through the popular music streaming service, fans can expect to see official playlists composed of the songs that set the soundtrack to many of the popular television shows featured on stations like MTV, BET and VH1. While it doesn’t quite take us back to the days where music was the center of MTV’s televised programming, it’s a step in the right direction.
