Yasiin Bey Returns to the US and Reunites with Talib Kweli as Black Star at Dave Chappelle's Show
Despite reports surrounding citizenship status, Yasiin Bey has returned to the United States today

Despite reports surrounding citizenship status, Yasiin Bey has returned to the United States today to make a surprise appearance and reunite with Talib Kweli as Black Star during Dave Chappelle’s comedy show at Radio City Music Hall in New York City earlier tonight. The legendary hip-hop duo performed their hits “Definition” and “Redefinition” while they also offered respective solo cuts such as “Umi Says” and “History,” and “The Blast” and “Get By.”
Last month, the rapper cancelled a nationwide tour. Promoters for the tour’s opening date hinted at “immigration/legal issues” that prevented Bey from reentering America, prompting speculation that he had renounced his American citizenship in favor of South African citizenship. A South African newspaper reported that the artist had not been banned from America, and instead had “moved the dates” due to scheduling conflicts.
Below you can check out two Instagram clips provided by Talib Kweli and Okayplayer that captured this special night.
