For its 2015 spring/summer collection, COMME des GARÇONS puts on an anti-war front made obvious with its “Soldier of Peace” slogan found within the range. The collection takes on a satirical military sense throughout with short suits and other army-inspired designs that sport “Peace, Love, Empathy” as well as “Strong Lover” to add to the cause. What stands out the most however are the Krakows — a 14th century European designed shoe that sees an elongates toe called the “Pouline” that was cut after a battle retreat as it proved as an hindrance during the getaway; an obvious style with a subtle jab at being anti-war.
