For Chrome Industries‘ latest foray into footwear, it aimed to produce the best city sneaker the world as ever seen. Something that would prove to be stylistically versatile, extremely durable in all conditions and superiorly comfortable. The result became the aptly named Forged Rubber Sneakers. Harvesting rubber from nearby rubber trees, each pair is individually made by the experienced hand of a Taiwanese craftsman and a collection of 70-year-old machines that were salvaged from Slovakia. That forged rubber is then fused directly on to a 12 oz. canvas upper at 300 degrees Fahrenheit, making every pair virtually indestructible, at least from a sole standpoint. Additional details include the brand’s signature reflective heel and an antimicrobial sock liner with a quick-dry contoured footbed for those sockless summer days. The Forged Rubber Sneaker is available in a bevy of colors and styles here.
