Like him or not, Trinidad James still fights to stay relevant in rap and shows no signs of slowing down when it comes to producing new music. For the visual accompanying his new track “Def Jam,” James takes a trip to Brooklyn, where he links up with a few different crews and appears to take over a side of a block for the day. He dons a tailored white dress shirt, white jeans, red blouson and red Balenciaga sneakers, and on top of that throws on some contacts that turn his pupils sliver-thin. The combination of the matching red-and-white outfit and strange contact lenses fashions James as some sort of thugged-out Dracula, and for once the gothic look he puts together actually matches his song’s gothic, ominous production.
