Brooklyn psychonauts The Underachievers are set to release their debut album The Cellar Door: Terminus Ut Exordium sometime in the near future, and in anticipation of the project’s drop they have let loose the first single “Chrysalis.” This new cut is more music made to strong-arm your third eye open, with AK & Issa once again donning the roles of spiritual guides with “royal blue blood” and spitting “complex mazes to to get lost in.” The Beast Coast duo are choosing to be saviors rather than savages, and at this point they could basically pen small essays based on the lyrics in each new song they release. As always, the production is of an extraterrestrial nature, with producer Death Tarot choosing to style the beat like a space-age street anthem. Without any clear competition or real peers in their lane, The Underachievers should be having a movement akin to colleague Joey Badass and Pro Era’s soon.
