Foster the People - Best Friend

The latest offering from LA trio Foster the People comes in the form of the visual translation for the single “Best Friend” and boy is it a trippy one. Set around the not-so glamorous world of fashion modelling, the clips depicts a models struggle to obtain the ideal features she considers are beautiful. Such quests include devouring a few fellow models as well as warping her body into a much, much slender version of herself. On the video, frontman Mark Foster comments:

“It’s a commentary on the modeling industry and the fashion industry and the pressures women feel and girls feel every day. It’s a playful take on that; it’s not too heavy handed.”

We’re not quite sure on the degree of its playfulness but this is definitely worth a watch as it plays a haunting host to one of today’s topical issues. Take a viewing up above and let us know what you think in the comments section.
