News of Apple‘s rumored buyout of Beats first broke at the start of this month and in the time since, many have questioned whether the deal would in fact go through. Three weeks later, Apple officially announced the acquisition and set minds racing as to what the acquisition could lead to. Beats is best known for its hardware, producing stylish headphones, earphones and speakers that have quickly become a ubiquitous sight, particularly the brand’s iconic red wires, which now inspire the same kind of envy as Apple’s white wires did when its iPods and iPhones originally released. However, Beats has – slowly but surely – been building up its streaming music service to the point where it now looks to be a legitimate contender on the scene. Now that the acquisition is taking place, it looks like Apple just may have the edge to once again dominate the music scene but we’ll have to wait and see before we making any hard conclusions. In the meantime, we leave it to you: Do you think Apple will rule music after acquiring Beats? Let us know what you think in this week’s polls.
In our last poll, we asked you whether branding or design was more influential? Branding received 2,532 votes while design received 1,786 votes.
