British designer Paul Smith reinterprets the Carl Hansen & Søn Shell Chair to help the innovative furniture maker celebrate its 50th anniversary. First designed by Hans J. Wegner, Smith tweaks his original pattern using thinner multi-colored stripes for the Maharam textile construction. The chair is just one of twenty versions made for the celebratory Maharam Shell Chair Project, which will debut on April 9 before going on sale to authorized dealers.
