Pantone Selects Marsala as 2015 Color of the Year

In its annual ritual now in its 15th year, color experts Pantone have named a new Color of the Year for 2015, namely “18-1438 Marsala.” A red-brown hue named after a Sicilian wine, Marsala was chosen through a 12-month process whereby a color committee collectively decides on a color by gathering global color trends. Described as embodying “the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal” and emanating a “sophisticated, natural earthiness” by Pantone’s Executive Director, this food and drink-inspired shade appropriately sets the mood for the next year. The outgoing 2014 Color of the Year was “18-3224 Radiant Orchid.”
