It seems like there is a new Tyler, the Creator album in the works. In a recent conversation with The FADER, Tyler indicates that, though his project is early in the creative process, there are many artists he’d like to feature on the album such a JAY Z, Rick Ross, Willow Smith and more. Among the several inspirations taunting The Creator, it seems gangs and consumerism are at the core of Tyler’s thematic concepts. Now, in terms of musical inspiration, it’s been stated that Tyler is drawing on legendary artist Stevie Wonder to guide his work, specifically his track “Where Were You When I Needed You” — a song whose title could be manipulated in very dark ways by the Wolf mastermind. Additional inspirations are songs like “2nd Childhood” by Nas. Nevertheless, the majority of the album discussion seems to be snowballing, and the project still has a ways till fruition so it will be interesting to see how this develops over the next few months. Stay tuned for more as this develops.
