Known as one of Australia’s most progressive street artists, MEGGS has completed his largest solo mural to date in East Detroit. At over 6,000 square feet, the “Rise Up” mural features an image of a tiger leaping forward from a background of colorful swirls and the text “Rise Up.” Presented as a symbol of hope and strength that the city can identify with as it moves into a new era of change, MEGGS expresses his respect for Detroit through his mural as a gift to the city, alongside his solo gallery exhibition with Inner State Gallery and 1XRUN. Take a look at the process of creating the mural below and stay updated with MEGGS’ work via his Instagram.
