Reebok continues with the releases surrounding the 25th anniversary of its classic Pump high-top, this time partnering up with Miami’s Shoe Gallery. Taking inspiration from a rather unique source, the design ties in the tongue-inflating, ankle-locking capabilities of the Reebok Pump with the respiratory alleviation provided by the inhaler, both being indispensable items for the optimum performance of the asthmatic athlete on court. The result is the “Asthma” Pump, whose bold red upper of leather and suede calls to mind the same color found on many inhalers. Grey accents on the heel counter and the Pump components further hint at the connection with the metal pressurized canister of the inhaler, where the medication is normally stored. This construction is finished off with a similarly red midsole and a rubberized silver outsole.
