It was only last month that Banksy created the “Art Buff” mural in Folkstone, England, but the owner of the wall has already grown tired of protecting it and began the removal process on Saturday. The artwork features a woman with headphones staring at an empty space atop a plinth, which has been vandalized by a spray-painted penis that also occupied the empty space after. Angry protests erupted when the news came out that the piece is on its way to Bankrobber, a London gallery. Police were called in due to the attempts of local art fans to destroy scaffolding being used by workers. The “Art Buff” piece has an impressive estimated worth of £300,000 (approximately $480,000 USD).
