Princess Nokia - Anomaly

New York artist Destiny Nicole Frasqueri aka Princess Nokia has released an eerily attractive tune titled “Anomaly.” Nokia has slowly been making waves, first from the Tumblr acquired “Bitch I’m Posh” two summers ago and, more recently, with her Metallic Butterfly mixtape release, a joint project with OWWWLS producer. The song “Anomaly,” which Nokia describes as a “lullaby,” is said to be a celebration of the beauty of darkness and sadness. While the description is ominous, the song is an impressive lyrical and vocal work that carries over a trip-hop beat, while dark lyrics resound with the inner thoughts of an anti-hero like character such as Carrie or the girls from Ginger Snaps.
