As the end of the year approaches, critics and filmgoers alike will be anticipating the Oscar-worthy films of 2014. As with film specific nominations, the always highly debated best song nomination is already starting to draw speculation. New York songstress Lana Del Rey is at the front of this speculation, as she has written two songs for the upcoming Tim Burton film Big Eyes, a movie about the iconic American artist Margaret Kane. The Hollywood Reporter is also campaigning for Lana’s Oscar nod, as last years “Young and Beautiful” of The Great Gatsby was unceremoniously snubbed. Lana’s two songs, “Big Eyes,” which appears halfway through the film, and “I Can Fly,” which plays over the credits, are co-written by Daniel Heath and Rick Nowels.
