NameBrand - Whips

“A n*gga ain’t reached his climax, but I go hard, and I’m up-and-coming.” That line from NameBrand‘s new song, “Whips,” sums him up perfectly. He doesn’t exactly have a Gucci Mane or Future-scale of work attached to his resume and he’s still grinding to earn the necessary spotlight, but what he does have is some exceptional talent as an emcee, the right work ethic, and some big names recognizing it. TDE-affiliated producer Willie B is the one providing him with the beat and standing by his side in this new video, and Sha Money has already snatched up the Long Beach rapper for Epic. You don’t always need a blog-baiting gimmick or big summer single to get yourself going on a climb up the top. Like rappers Danny Brown and Freddie Gibbs have shown, sometimes you just need an Olympic level of ability to receive some recognition.
