Fiona Apple Debuts New Song "Container" for TV Show 'The Affair'

For her latest offering, Fiona Apple has contributed a new song titled “Container” for Showtime’s upcoming original series The Affair. Produced by Blake Mills the song will open a series that “explores the emotional and psychological effects of an extramarital affair, and will be told separately from the male and female perspectives.” Upon debuting the track alongside the trailer, the show’s creator and executive producer Sarah Treem commented:

“Fiona Apple has been my favorite songwriter since I was 16. I am honored and humbled that she has chosen to lend her talent to our opening title sequence. If our show can approach one tenth of the depth and complexity of her song, I’ll be very happy.”

The Affair is scheduled to premiere Sunday, October 12 at 10:00 PM EST; in the meantime you can check out the trailer and hear “Container” for the first time.
