Though it only ran for two seasons, David Lynch and Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks influenced a multitude of artists. From indie acts like Beach House to songstresses such as Lana Del Rey, all sorts of forward-thinking, boundary-breaking musicians took inspiration from the award-winning series. Now, the series is on its way back. Starting in 2016, Twin Peaks will once again air new episodes on television, this time on Showtime. As of now there are only nine new episodes, but more could be on the way following this season’s conclusion. Series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost will write and produce all nine episodes of the limited series, and Lynch will direct every episode. Set in the present day, TWIN PEAKS will continue the lore of the original series, providing long-awaited answers and a satisfying conclusion for the series’ passionate fan base.
