Auto-tune is always a topic of debate among artists. Most of the controversy stems from the audio processor being able to correct incorrect, off-key vocals, essentially perfectly tuning an originally off-key attempt. Well, it appears that there is, in fact, a correct way to use auto-tune and who would be more fitting to explain its usage to us than the king of auto-tune himself, T-Pain. In a recent interview with Huffington Post, T-Pain indicates auto-tune is often used as a “crutch,” claiming the majority of artist’s use it incorrectly, including Mr Kanye West. However, T-pain insists that the point is to sing with the tool instead of using it to correct or aid a performance. Check out the interview and let us know your thoughts.
