Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B (Trailer)

Despite a couple roadblocks along the way, Lifetime have finally revealed the trailer to the controversial biopic of the late R&B artist Aaliyah. Titled Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, the Wendy Williams-executive produced movie is set to star Alexandra Shipp in place of previous choice Zendaya Coleman. Successfully emulating the classic dance moves of Haughton in the trailer; what has yet to have been revealed is the vocal element. As mentioned in the past, Aaliyah’s family have publicly disapproved of the biopic which we can suspect is the reason why the trailer lacks any of Aaliyah’s original music. In replacement, lady-of-the-hour Iggy Azalea has provided the trailer with her track “Goddess” from her debut album The New Classic.
