Just off Stevens Road in Singapore, architectural firm ONG&ONG designed the above Zen-inspired dwelling with a minimalist family in mind. Comprised of two trapezoidal blocks, the front structure – made with granite – houses social quarters like the living and dining rooms, whilst service functions like the kitchen appear in the back concrete section. A reflective pool separates the two main blocks at ground level, while the three-story void above works as a means of drawing up hot air so that the cooler air can rush in to keep temperatures low. Lastly, its rooftop blurs the lines between outdoor and indoor spaces as it offers adjoining terraces and open decks lined with artificial grass.
