Better World Fragrance House has released the Summer Mink Scented Candle, bringing Drake‘s signature fragrance off the skin and into the home. The 10.5 oz candle carries over the same amber-woody profile as the original scent, adding a gold marker that lets owners personalize the vessel by hand.
Summer Mink is built around an idea that shouldn’t work on paper. The brand frames the scent as the feeling of draping yourself in mink during the warmest months of the year, a deliberately out-of-season move that ignores who a fragrance is supposed to be for and when it’s supposed to be worn. That sense of contrast shapes the composition from top to bottom.
The opening is bright and herbal, led by Italian citrus, clary sage and petitgrain, the latter drawn from the leaves and twigs of the bitter orange tree. As the candle warms, the heart turns floral and warm at once, with jasmine sambac and rose oil layered over a blend of spices. The dry-down settles into vetiver, musk and Ambrofix, a sustainably produced amber molecule that gives the base its smooth, mineral warmth.
