Since stepping back into the solo realm, former Kids These Days frontman Vic Mensa has been building up to release of INNANTAPE. As expected, Vic makes an impact on his comeback project. The varying vibes of his previously released singles like “Lovely Day,” “YNSP” and “Time Is Money” sound right at home when played in the context of the 14-song offering. Complementing Mensa throughout the project are Thundercat, Ab-Soul, Eliza Doolittle and Kenna, along with fellow Chicagoans Chance The Rapper, Jesse Boykins III, Lili K, Joey Purp, Rockie Fresh and BJ The Chicago Kid. While the majority of the production on INNANETAPE is handled by Cam for J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Peter Cottontale and Om’Mas Keith, it also sees additional work from Hit-Boy, Boi-1da and Michael Uzowuru, among others. Overall, INNANETAPE serves an impressive reintroduction to a familiar face; listen below and stay tuned for our exclusive Q&A with Vic coming this week.
