Ubuntu has announced plans to develop its first smartphone, the Ubuntu Edge. More than just a smartphone, Ubuntu plans to give the Edge the ability to dock and become a desktop PC. To do so, Ubuntu intends to equip the phone with a multi-core processor, 4 GBs of RAM, 128 GBs of store, a dual-LTE chip, and a crystal clear 4.5” sapphire-crystal display. In addition to running its own software, the phone will also have Android compatibility with a dual-booting system. Ubuntu is currently trying to gain funding through Indiegogo; pledge $830 USD and you’ll get your very own Edge should Ubuntu reach its funding goal of $32,000,000 USD.
