Team Designed and Custom Built by Nixon: The Blaster

Blending utilitarianism with elegant design cues, Nixon fuses its action sports origins with advanced technology, delivering unique silhouettes that are forward thinking yet immensely relevant. Its latest speaker system is one such venture. Developed in conjunction with Nixon’s sports teams — spanning surf, skate and snow — the speaker is set apart from the number of sound devices in the market as it is made to withstand conditions found in a snow park, skatepark, or the beach. Dubbed the Blaster, the Bluetooth-enabled speaker boasts a super durable construction, shock and moisture resistance, and a battery life of more than 12 hours so those long hikes or beach excursions are never without tunes. We sat down with Nixon’s VP of product Tyson White to learn more about the motivation behind the portable speaker, and how catering to its athletes’ standards is a valuable tool in building new ideas.
