While its Fall/Winter 2013 line culled from the theme of “kidult,” its 2014 spring/summer collection draws from soccer as a central motif. Here, Munsoo Kwon express the energy associated with the ubiquitous sport via classic cut & sew and modern fabrications. Using 1920s soccer uniform as inspiration, the outfits of players, coaches and referees sit alongside hooligan-inspired garments – dropped crotch pants, asymmetric denim jackets, eco leather jackets and high glossy long blouses. Not shying away from the use of vibrant colors, Munsoo Kwon transcends classic silhouettes from the yesteryear to modern day, applying stylish relevance to the quaint designs.
