At Gucci‘s Spring/Summer 2014 presentation, Frida Giannini sent her models down the runway to the sounds of Daft Punk. The collection, too, paralleled the soundtrack – its high-tech fabrics and treatments meant to conjure the sophisticated sportsman. There were neoprene-lined T-shirts and leather backpacks to go with track pants and bonded leather jackets, as well as bright colors and floral prints with a Gothic edge. Even suiting took its cues from activewear — in nylon, cotton and stretch jerseys — substantiating the sportswear trend we’ve been seeing throughout the shows.
