Christopher Bailey welcomed Burberry Prorsum‘s return to London with a collection inspired by “writers and painters” — in this case, English painter David Hockney, and writer Alan Bennett. Working mostly with cotton, linen, silk and cashmere, the designer showed off plenty of primary colors, Hockney-like glasses, brightly-hued raincoats and suede shoes for Spring/Summer 2014. Suits, meanwhile, were worn with patterned scarves – the kind of vivid ties that Bennett favored and colorful knits – many of which also doubled as outerwear.
