Although MJ lost the regular season MVP award to adversary Charles Barkley that year, his attraction to pressurized situations carried into the finals where he averaged a record-setting 41.0 ppg, scoring more than 30 points in all six games, thus earning his third straight Finals MVP in what would be the last season before his first retirement.
