Diplo to Produce EDM Movie

Diplo – who is more-or-less synonymous with contemporary “rave” music – is rumored to bring to the big screen the genre he holds dear. With the help of 20th Century Fox, a bleary script is yet to unfold based on three teens trying to get into Diplo’s Electronic Music Festival — a topic that’s been described as “8 Mile meets Project X.” Perhaps with Coachella this weekend as the first sprout of festival season ahead, the EDM film will gladly welcome the summer months with anticipation. Although this will likely be disparate to any credible music documentary, let’s hope for a captivating release away from any run-of-the-mill debauchery chick flick.
