Known for its militaristic influences and polarizing use of camouflaged prints, maharishi teams with Casio G-Shock to create a timepiece inspired by the modern day pacifist prepper. These self-sustaining individuals, or survivalists, are actively preparing for a possible disruption in the social or political order in which our basic food, medical, energy, and defense needs may not be provided by the state or private enterprises. Based on the prepper’s strong will, the two labels chose to rework the GW9400 Rangeman watch that was specifically designed for first-response professionals and combatants. The collaborative GW9400J features solar power functionality, a compass, atomic timekeeping, a Super Illuminator LED backlight, a thermometer, a barometer, an ultra-rugged casing, and so much more. To commemorate the release of this limited-to-20 joint effort that also includes a USB drive and protective cloth, maharishi employed the talented Norbert Schoerner to direct a short film highlighting the English brand’s G-Shock creation as well as its fall/winter clothing collection.
