From the minds behind master-piece comes the latest collection from Japanese imprint 02DERIV.: the Fall/Winter 2013 “MOUNTOWN” range. Inspired by “a vision of huge skyscrapers standing in a row like mountains” and the ever-changing conditions of the urban environment, the collection takes design cues from prototypical mountain wear and appropriates them for added functionality in a harsh urban setting. The results include everything from wools and knits to quilted nylons, wind-resistant synthetics, heavyweight cotton twill, Harris Tweed, GORE-TEX, British Millerain waxing and more – all across silhouettes that are perfectly in line with the aesthetic of contemporary streetwear thanks to streamlined looks evocative of both military and hunting garb. 02DERIV.’s Fall/Winter 2013 “MOUNTOWN” collection is now available at select stockists and online while a corresponding capsule collection crafted in conjunction with METAPHORE will soon be available as well.
