Any great brand is more than the sum of its designs, but also its purpose. Influencer backing and approval from runway pundits means Maison Martin Margiela needs no introduction, yet for all its successes, the brand is not without a sense of social responsibility. UK-based retailer LN-CC has archived a series of Margiela’s AIDS awareness shirts, which the brand has produced seasonally since its Fall/Winter 1994 range. A retrospective 20-piece collection has been assembled, paying homage to the evolution of design and typeface over the years – though the message has remained consistent. Each shirt will retail at $101 USD, with percentages of each shirt’s price being donated to the EJAF (Elton John AIDS Foundation). The shirts are available now on LN-CC’s web shop.
