Rock-inspired Japanese label LAD MUSICIAN presents its 2014 spring/summer collection, channeling the style of late American abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko. Designed by Yuichi Kuroda, the collection was named Minimal Art Rock 70 after his last collection as well as the last year of Rothko’s life. In addition to Rothko’s trademark border and color blocking, rich solids including turquoise, blue and red share the minimalist collection with subtle gradients, stripes and fine wood bark-like patterns.
