RED's New $42,000 Black & White EPIC-M Monochrome
Digital cinematography equipment manufacturer RED has introduced its latest product, the Epic-M

Digital cinematography equipment manufacturer RED has introduced its latest product, the Epic-M Monochrome cinema camera. Available October 1, this new cinema camera packs an all-new black-white and white-only Mysterium X sensor, which RED claims offers a 15-20 percent increase in effective resolution over its chromatic sensor. The camera will also offer a native ISO of 2,000, over double that of the Epic-M and X chromatic cameras. Like its siblings, this new camera doesn’t come cheap, with a sticker price of $42,000 USD but those who opt to buy it come October will receive a free upgrade to the firm’s new Dragon Monochrome sensor when it releases next year.
